This is important so we can move on from just Transactional Marketing to Engagement Marketing.
Transactional Marketing is the basic work marketing departments HAVE to do. It includes 4 of the 5 Ws. Who, what, ,when, where.
But the 5th W is missing.
Engagement Marketing is all about the WHY.
Why is this exhibition important? Why is this artist important? Why should I engage with it? The WHY is where meaningful audience engagement happens. The WHY is what people will open up about. The WHY is what people will share and connect with.
The WHY is the door to greater audience engagement and growth.
The problem is, we rarely get to the WHY. It shouldn't be "if we have time" or "if we have extra room in the budget”. The WHY should be it's own budget line item. How much $ are we dedicating to WHY? How are we telling the story?
Our goal is to help create a system in which the day-to-day movement of information works so efficiently that the things we HAVE to do (first 4 Ws) are no longer in the way of the things we NEED to do. (the WHY)
